Burial

In New Zealand, burials must take place in an official cemetery or a traditional burial ground by law. It provides a family with a focal point, a grave to go to where they remember their loved one. Burial involves buying a burial plot, or reopening an existing one, paying an interment fee, including costs from the burial ground for continued maintenance of the burial plot. This does not include the maintenance of any memorial erected on the plot. A service can be held at either a church, chapel, or chosen venue and then continue at the graveside. A full graveside service can also be arranged. Eco – burials are also available from 2018. Considerations include:

Private Family Gathering

A ‘Private Family Gathering’ is a get-together where a small group is invited by family to attend an informal gathering, prior to cremation, to mark the passing of the person who has died. We can tailor a Private Family Gathering for burial as well. Considerations include:

Simple Direct Cremation

A Direct Cremation Service differs greatly from that of a more ‘traditional’ funeral service, in that the deceased is first cremated without any initial funeral service or procession. As the cremation would generally take place the same day of passing, there is no embalming, viewing or visitation involved. Considerations include:
